First pitches and film sets: the DeLorean's 2025

2025 was the year the DeLorean spent more time on ballfields and film sets than at car shows. Three of them are worth pulling out.

The Rochester Honkers Back to the Future night and an 80s night at the St. Paul Saints both brought the car out in front of a full stadium — and both had the actor who played Marvin Berry along for it. At the Saints, Doc Brown threw the first pitch.

Minor league baseball turns out to be a near-perfect fit for a time machine: a crowd already in the mood for something daft, a warning track wide enough to drive on, and several thousand people who all want the same photo.

The car also appeared in the official music video for “The Power of Love”, shot with Filter Nothing Productions. Film and video work is steadier than it looks from outside — a DeLorean is one of the few props that an audience recognises in a single frame.
